چکیده
The radiation shielding abilities of waste marbles with different concentrations WO3 (tungsten oxide) nanoparticles were investigated. Four prepared 0, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.2 nanoparticles. study aims to investigate the effect concentration, density, particle size marble samples. linear attenuation coefficient (LAC) S1 sample, sample no WO3, was determined theoretically experimentally, results demonstrated that they close enough together adequately determine LAC other Additionally, samples nano-WO3, rather than micro-WO3, found have a greater LAC, showing decreasing improves their ability. Samples content also had higher values. evaluated at wide energy range (0.015–15 MeV) examine properties for applications, an inverse trend between observed. protection efficiency (RPE) absorb almost all incoming photons low energies. As increases, naturally drops, as are able penetrate through them ease. High dependence when calculating half-value layers (HVL) When comparing mean free paths (MFP) marbles, relationship Furthermore, nano-WO3 smaller MFP those meaning Zeff micro-WO3 values followed three distinctive trends depending on photons.

Emerging technology for shielding of electromagnetic radiation using composite materials
This study indicated that multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)-epoxy composites can be used as effective lightweight shielding materials. The measurement results showed that highest EMI SE of 23.4 dB at 8 GHz was obtained for nanocomposite with 1 wt% MWCNTs. Dielectric properties and electrical conductivity values were supplemented by microscopic studies.

The attenuating properties of several types of lead (Pb)-based and non-Pb radiation shielding materials were studied and a correlation was made of radiation attenuation, materials properties, calculated spectra and ambient dose equivalent. Utilizing the well-characterized x-ray and gamma ray beams at the National Research Council of Canada, air kerma measurements were used to compare a variety ...

PURPOSE To measure the attenuation effectiveness and minimize the weight of new non-Pb radiation shielding materials used for radiation protection by interventional radiology (IR) physicians, to compare the accuracy of the different standard measurement geometries of these materials, and to determine x-ray qualities that correspond to the scattered radiation that IR physicians typically encount...
متن کاملGold Nanoparticles for Radiation Enhancement in Vivo.
Enhancing the effect of radiation on tumors would be a significant improvement in radiation therapy. With radiation enhancement, less radiation could be used to achieve the same goals, lessening damage to healthy tissue and lessening side effects. Gold nanoparticles are a promising method for achieving this enhancement, particularly when the gold nanoparticles are targeted to cancer. This liter...
متن کاملShielding of Gamma Radiation
In the discussion that follows, we assume that gamma rays are the radiation of interest. The principles discussed also apply to monoenergetic x rays; in many cases of concern in x-ray shielding, however, the photons are produced in the bremsstrahlung process that yields a wide and continuous distribution of photon energies. Specialized shielding approaches have been developed to carry out shiel...
